Thank you to everyone who had their say as part of the council's review of libraries.

Almost 4000 people took the opportunity to give us their views about what makes libraries great, what can be improved, and your thoughts on our ideas for improvement.

Based on your feedback the county council's cabinet members have made a decision to modernise the service

The discussion site is now closed, but you can get more information about councillors' decision and what happens next on our website here.

There you can read the full report about the feedback we received during the discussion and more details about the different ways to modernise the service.

Budget consultation 2012-2013 - have your say

Last year we asked you for your views on how we could save £44 million.

This year yet again we are having to make savings and we are looking at where we can save money.  Fortunately because of savings made last year we have to save £2.8 million this year - a relatively small amount.

We would like your views on our proposals to make these savings.  We have set up a new, dedicated budget consultation website where you can do this - at cumbriabudget.ning.com.

Please go to the site to give us your views and have your say on our savings proposals.

Thank you.
